1. Car radios with code theft protection After the battery has been disconnected or an incorrect code has been entered,
you will see only dashes in the car radio display. What should you do? After checking to make sure that the radio is connected properly, be sure to leave it switched on until "CODE" appears in the display (max. 1 hour). Be aware that pressing buttons or interupting the power supply will restart the 1 hour period. Press station preset "1" and you will see three or four zeros in the display. Now enter the correct code as described in the operating instructions.
2. Losing the Radio Pass with the Code Number The car radio cannot be activated until you enter the code number and the radio pass with the code number is no longer available. What should you do? You will need to obtain the radio code through a Blaupunkt Dealer, Service Point or Halfords Branch. They will ask for some proof of identity and ownership of the radio to prevent fraudulent use of the service. You will also need: The Serial Number, found on the right hand side of the radio chassis in the format BP0000X0000000; The Model Number, found close to the serial number and commencing 76; The model name and number from the front panel. Just as you must pay when you lose a door key, the code service is chargeable.
3. Car radios with KeyCard theft protection
If you lose your KeyCard you can operate the radio with a spare or replacement card providing it has been programmed with the correct code for your radio. Where can you get the new KeyCard and the code? As above, you can obtain the replacement card and security code to programme it from a Blaupunkt Dealer, Service Point or Halfords store. The same Security rules apply and a new card will not work until it has been programmed with the correct code.
4. Programming a new card without having the original to teach it the code. The procedure varies slightly from one model to another. Seek help from your supplying dealer or call our Technical Hotline on 01895 838880 keying 3 for service when connected.
5. Programming a new card when you have the original. A new card can be taught the code from the original. See your user operating manual for details.
