DAB/DMB
Digital Audio Broadcasting or Digital Multimedia Broadcasting – the digital radio/multimedia standard of the future. A DAB digital single-frequency signal can convey much more data than an analogue radio signal and is even able to transmit moving pictures. Many familiar programs are now available in close-to-CD sound quality, and there are already a number of completely new stations on the air.
DigiCeiver
Completely new technology, whereby the car radio is based on signal/com-puter processors, just like a PC. The signal is digitally processed from the receiver to the Preamp Out. This affords considerable advantages in terms of reception properties and sound adaptation.
Digital Input
Signal source input for loss-free digital data transmission from the CD changer directly to the central processor and the D/A converter in the car radio. In terms of sound, it is better to have just one digital/analogue signal conversion.

Disc Naming
With the help of this function it is possible to enter a name for any CD currently playing. This name will then appear in the display each time the CD is played (if the corresponding display mode has been selected in the DSC menu).
DMS
The Disc Management System makes it possible to connect a Blaupunkt CD changer and operate it using the keypad of the car radio.
DNC
-> DSA
DOT field
Field with a variable display for the Skyline offering information and operating assistance during operation.
DPE and DEQ
Digital Parametric Equaliser. Steep 2-stage equaliser with freely selectable frequency and filter strength, with which it is possible to suppress undesirable room resonance or make frequency response losses linear in the speakers. The sound becomes much more uniform and accurate.
DSA and DNC
Digital Sound Adjustment consists of a digital equaliser (Mobile Multimedia 9 band/4 channels or Skyline 7 band/2 channels) which measures the vehicle interior acoustics using an external microphone at the touch of a button and can be adjusted manually. Purely manual adjustment is possible for 2 channels as well. DNC (Dynamic Noise Covering) uses an external microphone to continually analyse driving noises and adjusts the volume and tone of the car radio in individual frequency bands accordingly. DNC can be adjusted to different sensitivity.
DSC
With the help of “Direct Software Control“, the basic settings for the car radio can be adjusted to accommodate in-vehicle conditions, individual preferen-ces and any existing car hi-fi stereo equipment.
Dual cone speakers
One-way speakers whereby a paper cone mounted in the centre of the membrane improves the radiation characteristics for the treble requencies.
