Radio Monitor (RM)
The unit switches to radio operation while rewinding or fast-forwarding a compact cassette.
Radio Navigation
The TravelPilot navigation system is integrated in the car radio and controlled by the car radio operating panel. Spoken driving recommendations are emitted by a voice over the hi-fi speakers; symbols also appear in the radio display. The navigation CD is inserted into the integrated CD-/CD-ROM drive.

RDS
(Radio Data System) RDS is a service provided by radio stations. In addition to the usual music and speech programs, other information is transmitted in the form of coded digital signals which can be evaluated by the car radio.
The following RDS services are currently available:
AF (Alternative Frequency): The car radio automatically selects the frequency with the best reception for the program you are currently listening to.
EON: When a traffic announcement (TA) is broadcast, the radio will automatically switch from a station which does not transmit traffic information to one that does in the same broadcasting network (e.g. from NDR 3 to NDR 2).
Music/speech (M/S): In future, a number of radio stations will differentiate between music and speech programs. A separate tone setting (lowering bass and treble) can be selected (via DSC) for speech programs.
PI code: The car radio uses the PI code to identify the radio station.
PS (Program Service): allows the display of the station name.
PTY (Program Type): a function which is supported by an increasing number of radio stations, whereby the car radio can search for stations broadcasting specific program contents (e.g. news, rock, pop, sport, etc.).
RT (Radio text): Additional information supplied by the radio station on the programme (e.g. title of the programme, name of the musician, etc.).
Real-time tape counter
Cassette tape counter which indicates the elapsed tape playing time in minutes and seconds. After a short period, the counter is able to recognise whether the tape is a 60 or 90-minute tape. There is no need for manual adjustment.
Release Panel (RP)
Effective system of theft protection for car radios whereby you take part or all of the front panel of the radio with you when you leave the vehicle. The radio will not function without the RP.
